Ortaokul Öğrencilerinin “Cumhuriyet” Kavramına Yönelik İmajları (Presentatıons of The Conceptual “Rebuplic” of The Secondary School Students)

Abstract

The aim of this study is to determine the images of secondary school students towards the concept of Republic. It is aimed to examine the visuals of the concept of Republic in the minds of children who are close to each other in terms of socioeconomic and cultural levels and what these images mean. The study group of 137 secondary school students who study in a district of Usak province using the easily accessible sampling method in determining the study group of the research conducted in the phenomenological research pattern of qualitative research models, formed the study group of the research. In order to collect the research data, the students were asked to give an A4 sheet of paper and then they were asked to transfer the images that were revived in their minds to the paper. In the data analysis phase, the data transferred to the paper were analyzed and analyzed by 3 researchers by using descriptive analysis method and the codes were obtained from the codes. Results achieved; The icons are grouped under the categories of values and independence. When the codes with the highest frequency were removed, it was found out that the Turkish flag was reviving in the minds of the students. However, the mention of Republic of images revived in the minds of students, said that in line with Turkey's icons and values.
