Abstract

This research aimed to perform a bibliometric analysis of articles on drama included in the Web of Science database. In the research, a survey model which is one of the descriptive methods was used and bibliometric analysis techniques were applied. In the study, 1,649 articles published between 1975 and 2022 were analyzed. The analysis results showed that articles published on drama increased after 2007 in parallel with the next years. English, Spanish and Russian are the most frequently published languages in articles. The University of London, the University of Toronto and the University of Warwick are the institutions with the largest number of published researchers. "Ride The Journal of Applied Theatre and Performance”, “Philological Class” and “International Journal of Education and The Arts” are the journals in the field of education with the most drama-related articles. The UK, USA and Australia are the countries that produce the largest number of articles. The number of citations of the articles published after 2004 has increased in parallel with the years. The most frequently used keywords in the articles are "drama, creative drama and process drama". It is thought that this research will provide a perspective for those who plan to do scientific work related to drama in the field of education
