Somut Olmayan Kültürel Miras Araştırmalarında Küresel Trend: Bibliyometrik Bir Analiz (Global Trend on Research of Intangible Cultural Heritage: A Bibliometric Analysis)

Since the adoption of the Convention for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage by UNESCO in 2003, the topic of Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) has garnered significant attention from scholars worldwide. This research aims to explore the prevailing trends in ICH studies through a systematic literature review, and the quantitative bibliometric analysis method was used to achieve this aim. A total of 645 articles pertaining to ICH were identified from the Web of Science (WoS) core database. VOSviewer analysis program was used for the bibliometric analysis of all articles. Through this program, the keywords and the concepts included in their abstracts, the most cited authors, and the year and country information of the publications were analysed, and the results were presented visually. As a result of the study, it was found that there is no consistency regarding author citations and works, and the studies are mostly related to concepts such as cultural heritage, tourism, sustainability, identity, and authenticity. Also, there has been a dramatic increase in the number of studies since 2003; the studies have been done more in high-income countries such as China, England, the USA, and Spain. It has been concluded that the journal in which the studies are published the most is Sustainability, and the publisher is MDPI.
