Abstract

The aim of this study is to develop an instrument for measuring attitudes towards the economy that social studies teachers take courses compulsorily in of 1st Class 2. Term. For this purpose a five-point Likert-type draft scale consisting of 29 items is prepared. For the content validity has consulted on expert opinion. The scale was applied to 205 teacher candidates studying at Gazi University Faculty of Education Social Studies Education in 2014-2015 fall semester. To determine the construct validity an exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was performed. As a results of factor analysis, the total 6 item was removed from the scale and as a result of the final measurements on 23-point structures, it is concluded that the scale possess a 3 factor structure. After the literature review made within the attitudes and judgments towards course,1. dimension: "to love", 2. dimension: "Valuing" 3. dimension "Transfer" was named. While the load factor of improved scale values ranged from .51 to .94, item testing correlations ranged from .61 to .89. As Cronbach's alpha value of the first factor consisting of 8 items: .95, Cronbach's alpha value of the second factor consisting of 8 items: .92, Cronbach's alpha value of the third factor consisting of 7 items: .91 was found at a very high value. The Cronbach's alpha values of all scale were calculated as .97. The variance explained of I. factors: 55.930%, the variance explained of II. factors: 8.235% the variance explained by III. factors 5.034% were found as. As a result of the applied confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), it was found that the model which consists of 23 items gave good fit (chi-square= 487.02, df= 227, RMSEA= .078, CFI= .93, IFI= .93, GFI= .82, RMR= .055).
