Özet

Aynı zaman diliminde yaşamış ve benzer toplumsal olaylara tanık olmuş bilişsel ve duygusal olarak aynı dönem etkilerini ve özellikleri sergileyen bireylerin oluşturduğu gruplar kuşak olarak tanımlanmaktadır. Kuşaklar benzer dönem olaylarına maruz kalmış ve bunun etkilerini taşıyan grupları ifade eder. Bu doğrultuda önemli tarihsel dönemlere tanıklık edenlerin oluşturdukları bu gruplar; Gelenekselciler kuşağı, Bebek patlaması kuşağı, X kuşağı, Y kuşağı, Milenyum kuşağı ve Z kuşağı gibi farklı kuşak nitelendirilmeleriyle anılmaktadır. Geleneksel kuşak sınıflandırmalarının dışında medya temelli yeni dönüşümün odak noktada bulunduğu, dijital yerli ve göçmenler, net kuşağı, oyun kuşağı, çekirge zihin, bin yılın öğrencileri ve zıplayan nesil gibi sınıflandırmalarda mevcuttur. Her kuşak kendi döneminin sosyo-politik ve sosyo-ekonomik olaylarının etkilerini taşımaktadır. Bu çalışmanın amacı uzun bir tarihsel süreci kapsayan kuşak çalışmalarının tarihsel kronolojisini incelemek ve tarihsel gelişim yörüngelerini ortaya koymaktır. Çalışma tarama modeli çerçevesinde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bu temelde alan yazında kuşaklarla ilgili öne çıkan temel çalışmalara ulaşılmış ve bu temel çalışmalar üzerinden kuşak çalışmalarının kronolojik gelişim süreci ele alınmıştır. Alan yazındaki öne çıkan önemli çalışmalar bağlamında kuşakların kronolojik yörüngeleri bütüncül bir yaklaşım ile incelenmiş ve tarihsel perspektifte izlediği gelişim seyri değerlendirilerek tartışılmıştır.
